Instagram MCP Server for Restaurants
Instagram MCP server for Claude, Cursor, Codex and any MCP client: connect your agent to FoodPerfect, and it can plan, create and schedule your restaurant's Instagram posts. Anything that publishes waits for your approval.
$ claude mcp add --transport http foodperfect https://mcp.foodperfect.ai/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $FOODPERFECT_API_KEY"
> If I ask you to publish a post, does it go out straight away?
● No, it doesn't go out straight away. When I ask to publish, FoodPerfect creates an approval request, and the post goes out only after you approve it in the app.
Connect it in three steps
- Create an API key. In FoodPerfect, open Settings → API Keys → Create API Key. Pick a preset (Read-only, Content operator, Publisher or Full) and an expiry if you want one. The key is shown once.
- Add the server to your agent. The endpoint is
https://mcp.foodperfect.ai/mcpwith the headerAuthorization: Bearer <your key>. Claude Code takes the one command above; Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code and Codex use the same URL and header. - Ask in plain words. "What's on my Instagram schedule?" or "Make a post about our new burger for Friday at noon."

What your agent can do on Instagram
- Read your scheduled posts, Brand DNA and publishing settings. Free.
- Create posts and captions in your brand's voice, food photos from your dish photos, promo designs, dish videos and reels (75 reel templates).
- Plan a publishing schedule for the platforms you connected.
- Publish or schedule approved posts, or save them as drafts.
- Answer comments and DMs: it drafts replies in your voice; you approve each send.
- Connect your Instagram account from the chat: you sign in through a link it gives you.
The server has 74 tools and publishes to 12 platforms, not only Instagram: see the social media MCP server, or all integrations. See every tool.
You approve what goes out
Publishing now, saving drafts, sending a reply and deleting don't run when the agent calls them. The server files a request, you approve it in Settings → Agent Requests, and the server runs it exactly once. The one exception you opt into: a key with Publisher or Full scope can call approve_posts, and an approved post then goes out at its scheduled time without a second request.
Each key has its own scopes, an optional expiry and a daily spending cap, and you can revoke it at any time.
Pricing
Reads are free. Photos, videos, reels and captions cost the same as in the app, and failed generations are refunded. Start with $3 of free credit, no card needed. Plans start at $29 a month (excl. tax), and the full plan price is added to your balance. See all plans.
Questions
Do I need a Meta developer app or the Instagram Graph API?
No. You connect your Instagram account to FoodPerfect once, in the app or from the chat, and FoodPerfect publishes through that connection. Your agent only talks to the FoodPerfect MCP server.
Which AI agents work with it?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and any MCP client that can call a remote server over HTTP with an Authorization header.
Can the agent post without me?
Not by default. Publishing, scheduling a reel, sending a reply and deleting all wait in Settings → Agent Requests until you approve. In Autopilot mode, a key that you gave the approvals:self scope can confirm its own requests.
